ONE-NET ANNOUNCES CONEXANT AS NEW MEMBER

November 11, 2010Petaluma, Calif. --   ONE-NET™ (www.ONE-NET.info), an independent, user-supported development community committed to open standards for low-power wireless devices, today announced that Conexant has joined as a member.

The ONE-NET community has developed and made public its specifications for the physical and networking protocol, source code examples for microcontrollers, schematics and bill-of-materials for reference designs and links to ONE-NET suppliers. Use of the ONE-NET standard is royalty-free, and simple open source licensing rules apply, such as contributing to the code base as modifications are developed. The ONE-NET logo will identify products tested for interoperability and compliance with the standard.

“The ONE-NET community welcomes Conexant’s participation in ONE-NET,” says James Martin of the ONE-NET organization.   “Our wireless technology is complementary to Conexant’s low-power video, audio, and imaging solutions, and ideally suited for home connectivity and automation options.

“Conexant is a strong advocate of open industry standards such as ONE-NET’s low-power wireless connectivity protocol” said Phil Pompa, senior vice president of marketing for Conexant.  “We look forward to working with the ONE-NET development community, and offering our customers advanced semiconductor solutions with a broader range of connectivity options.”

Video Learning Series

E-mail Print PDF
We're planning a ONE-NET video series that will augment and supplement our Seminars.  We’ll post the videos to You Tube as well, so they’ll be easy to share.

The first video will be an overview but will be followed up by specific, in-depth videos on different subjects.

Subjects on the table for now include:
- Transceivers: Current list, the importance of interoperability and what makes them ONE-NET compliant.
- Security: Encryption, Nonces, etc.
- Link Budget: why is this important

If you have any suggestions for topics, please post your responses in the General Comments section of the forum.

Fast Fact

A ONE-NET client has host processor requirements of 16K ROM, 1K RAM and 64B user non-volatile so it is well-suited for low-cost 8-bit and 16-bit processors such as MSP430, R8C, C8051 and HC08. The growing number of ONE-NET transceiver options includes TRC102, XE1203F, XE1205, ADF7025, IA4421, CC1100, MICRF505, SX1211 and AX5051.
